Score Sheets

A customized score sheet goes a long way towards improving various aspects of your game!

Consider:

Tile Tracking Location. Which side of the page provides a higher efficiency for you to quickly record used tiles?

Tracking Chart. Is it your preference to have separate tables for vowels, consonants and power tiles? Or do you prefer an alphabetical listing? Many players prefer a single letter followed by boxes (as in example below, Row "A" has nine boxes); others prefer a line or cluster of the same letter.

Record Your Racks! This will help you analyse your games afterwards.

Work Area. Keeping track of your options is important. When your opponent's clock is running, try finding all the sevens and eights that your rack yields and consider the strengths of each play.

And finally: Keep track of your tracking. Have a system in place for determining where you left off. Some like to stroke the word out; I prefer a checkmark in a small box adjacent to the recorded word(s).

Motivation and Inspiration can be as simple as writing a meaningful phrase at the top of the sheet at the beginning of every game, such as "THINK TWICE BONEHEAD!"
